I have been sewing since I was a little girl. I grew up watching my mother sew clothes for five girls and herself. I started making clothes for my Barbie around age 8 and my own clothes while in junior high school. I have always been interested in quilting and began quilting more than 20 years ago when the rotary cutter made quilting so much easier. My first quilt was a Trip Around the World and I was hooked. The final step of the longarm and how the design and thread could finish a pretty quilt top into a beautiful masterpiece was a huge interest but free motion was not for me. When I saw the Gammill with the Statler Stitcher, I was hooked. As an empty-nester, it seemed the right time to start this new venture.
